Massage Info

Indian Head Massage

Back, neck and shoulder

Indian head massage combines Ayurveda elements of energy or chakra balancing and is based on acupressure massage. Its benefits are felt throughout the body. The upper back, upper arms, shoulders, neck, head and face are massaged to promote relaxation and relieve tension. This massage may be performed on the clothed client while seated on a chair or can be performed on the massage bed with the use of oil.

Sport Massage

Sports massage is a form of bodywork geared toward participants in any sport or strenuous physical activity.  It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts or injuries that require rehabilitation.

Regular sports massage can help to avoid problems associated with overuse, so allowing for extra training sessions without the risk of injury or trauma. Sports massage is not necessarily an hour, but is specific to a particular muscle group or for the speedier rehabilitation of a muscle injury.

A person does not need to be a top flight athlete to gain from sports massage. Anyone who exercises or seeks to improve their general physical fitness may benefit from treatment - in particular those who do so less regularly.

This form of massage will also benefit individuals who work at a computer for long hours and assists with problems related to posture while sleeping, driving, sitting, even standing.

Relaxation (Swedish) Massage

Swedish massage is the most common type of full body massage usually performed at a spa. Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology as opposed to energy work. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on what the therapist wants to achieve.

Thai and Reflexology

Thai massage is also known as Thai yoga massage or the lazy man’s yoga. Focus is given to energy meridian lines, yoga stretches and pressure points, providing a truly invigorating experience! As with acupuncture and other forms of acupressure, balancing the energy in the body can help the body to heal and return to its normal state of health. Thai massage is performed on a floor bed on a fully clothed body.

Thai foot massage focuses on stimulating the points used in traditional reflexology with the use of a traditional Thai foot massage stick. This is used to apply pressure to specific points known to activate healing and balancing throughout the body. A wonderful treat for those suffering from tired and aching feet.  A foot massage involving stretching and massaging of the feet without reflex is also offered for those who prefer a relaxing, soft massage. Full Thai body massage, Thai reflexology foot massage and Thai foot massage.

Kahuna Lomi-Lomi (Hawaiian) Massage

Kahuna massage is a nurturing deep bodywork which incorporates long fluid strokes of the forearms, palms, elbows and the power of intention so that deep healing can take place.
